Welcome to The Coop. I call it that because ever since we got chickens, I've been head over heels for hobby farming and everything that goes with it.
This is a place for me to share my life's passions and write about my family's journey.
A little about me...
I became a child of God in May of 2007 and shortly after, I dedicated my life to Him. I haven't been the same since. I live for Him, because He died for me. Every day I aim to walk with Him, and every day I trip over my own feet. My convictions are strong and I make no apologies for them.
My life verse is Mark 8:36
"For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul."
I'm not here to impress you with a phoney perception of my life. This world is full of fake people. People that walk around wearing clothes they can't afford, driving cars they can't afford and living their lives off credit cards to portray a picture of perfection and happiness to those around them. People that care more about what others think of them, then how they feel about themselves. I used to be that person. I'm so thankful that Jesus freed me of that 6 years ago.
I'm here to be an encouragement to young christian women like myself who are walking with Christ, and maybe even those that aren't yet. I've been reading blogs for a long time and
so many of the women that write and call themselves Christian don't
portray that in anything else. They're like "oh yeah, and I'm a Christian and I love Jesus"
"Peace brother" (sarcasm needs it's own font)...
Anyway, I'm real. I have insecurities and I don't pretend to be miss perfect.
I'm not going to put on my Sunday best for you everyday.
What you can expect from me are stories from my everyday life. Life as a Christian, a wife, a mother, a DIYer, a canner, a painter, a sewer, a knitter, a gardener, and a want-to-be farmer. None of which I am an expert of. I'm young. I'm still learning and my interests are still growing. So far our little hobby farm consists of 3 chickens - but we've got big plans this spring to expand.
Now let me introduce you to the rest of the brood
This is Gabe...

He is a hunter, a fisherman, a soldier, a plumber, and the best dad a little boy could ask for. This man works from sun up to sun down and always, ALWAYS, makes time for his boys. Even if it's 5 minutes before bedtime and he's just walked through the door.
Brodey...

Brodey...
He is 4. He loves hot chocolate, playing outside, schooling me on my ipad [look mom, this is how you beat the game] and more than anything else in the world - he loves to play with his daddy. His heart is bigger than most people that I know. He never stops talking, but he often leaves me speechless.
Wyatt...
Our newest Love. He is so sweet. He's happiest when he is in my arms and I can hardly breath most of the time when I look at him. He is 4 months old and what I love most about this stage is that he is all mine! He hasn't discovered that he is his own person yet. When I need a snuggle I can pick him up whenever I want and he more than happy to oblige. He's my punkins!
God has blessed me with the most beautiful family. They are perfect. I don't mean that my husband and I never argue, that Brodey is always on his best behavior, and Wyatt never cries. I just mean that when I look at them - at each one of them individually and when we are all together, I am constantly reminded that God really has fashioned our family together with His hands. What a blessing it is to know that He is at work in our lives.
And as God works in our lives, I will have this place to share it with you.
